Fa la la la la, la la la la!

'Tis the season!

I have been blessing the office with Christmas music and my singing for 5 days now. If you don't think that creates a blissful office environment, you're plum crazy.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or anything in between, this month is all about giving, sharing, and enjoying the company of loved ones. I personally go home to visit my family in 24 hour spurts as to not ruin the "sharing and enjoying" part.

What we would love more than anything is for you to come share and enjoy with us! Now that football season is over and we all have a little more free time (and lower blood pressure) it's the perfect time to get some renovations going.

My focus today will be on carpet. Without picking a favorite company, I'll say that we have three new absolutely gorgeous displays that feature the softest carpet this side of the Mississippi. (actually softest carpet anywhere, but I love that saying)

Carpet has come leaps and bounds in the past 5-10 years. People will come in with samples of carpet they have in their homes and it feels like sandpaper compared to today's luxuriousness.

Whether you need a pattern, a loop carpet, or a cut-pile we don't care. (We do care) We can help you find your perfect match. Think of us as that creepy old guy on the eHarmony commercials, without the dentures and comb over. --->

What I'm trying to say is, we are experts and we promise to give you 100% while you're here!

Now, enjoy a photo of the carpet I was speaking about earlier.

Happy Holidays guys!
Amber

One thing I've learned doing this post, is that carpet doesn't photograph well enough to show adequate softness. Which means, you must come in and feel it yourself!

Here is one of the carpet's we sell in an advertising campaign... no sheep were harmed in the making of this ad. It's so soft you'll think you're petting a sheep (a clean sheep with no knots in it's coat.)

You can cry, but only on my wood-look tile.

Welcome back, guys!

I hope you enjoyed my first post. I know my parents were beaming with pride. (No, it doesn't take much with them.) This time around we will be focusing on one of my FAVORITE options for flooring.

Wood-look tile

Wood-look tile is the best of both worlds. It's having your cake and eating it too (without the calories.) It's friends with benefits (not recommended.) It's the peanut butter to... okay, you get it.

Lot's of people love the look of wood, but unfortunately we live in the South. It's humid as a steam room and there is water everywhere. So, when you want to get gorgeous 5" wide solid hardwood floors don't be surprised when we cringe a little bit. If you tell us you want to put it in your laundry room, bathroom, and kitchen don't be surprised when we start crying a little. You would be amazed how many horror stories we hear from toilets overflowing, dishwashers exploding, and washing machines bursting into spontaneous waterfall-like behavior. With all that said, wood-look tile is your new best pal.

It's gorgeous, water safe, and most importantly cheaper than wood (most of the time!) You can live on the lake, at the beach, or chill in your new kitchen with wide, lovely, DRY "hardwood" and not have to fret. Some of our favorite hardwood looks are rustic and worn, but they come in all shapes and sizes. (Okay really just sizes, most are rectangle shaped.) Some of our favorites are pictured below. Wood-look tile is installed the same way normal tile is installed. You can do thinner grout lines for a more "wood inspired" look and stay away from annoying grout.

If you're interested in wood-look tile swing by the store and chat with myself or Cindy. We will promise to guide you to wood-look tile nirvana.

Thanks for reading! If you have something you'd like to know more about comment and let me know. I'm like a wedding DJ, requests are welcome and encouraged.

Let's get ready to rumble!

It's beyond time for us to have our own blog!

I'll start by quickly introducing myself, as I'll be handling the account and mostly speaking in first person.

My name is Amber and I've been here at Carolina Wholesale Floors for right at 1 year. I started drinking the flooring industry kool-aid and haven't been able to look back. I find myself walking into restaurants, friends homes, and stores inspecting their choices they've made on flooring. It's a blessing and a curse. I enjoy noticing the choices, but I also would rather be focused on my friend's conversations than the tile creeping up the wall beside their head.
(This photo is me at a vendor fair, where I wow-ed people with awesome prices and my charm)

Flooring is such a fun industry to be in because there are endless choices, whether you're looking for carpet, hardwood, tile, or laminate and vinyl, you can make your dreams come true at our store. It's interior design with blinders on that keep your focus on the ground. Our customers come in with a counter top, or a cabinet, or a fabric swatch and we get to elaborate and create a beautiful room!

As a wholesale store, we can almost always ensure lower prices than the other guys. But, I like to think our main perk is that we truly care. Gillian, Cindy and myself are the only three you work with and we will drop what we are doing if you need some time to vent about your renovation project or change your selection because it's not working. We are more like a family than anything. (Yes, I am awkwardly inserting myself into the family business without asking... don't judge me)

So, what can you expect from this blog? My awful attempts at being humorous, but more importantly examples of work we've done and helpful hints and tricks to making this process fun and affordable.

Share this with your friends and make me flooring famous!

Until next time,
Amber
